A wiki is a website that anyone with the necessary priveleges can edit.
The derivation of the name is from the Hawaiian word wiki-wiki meaning quick. It is therefore a quick way of building a website. Ignore anyone who tells you wiki is an acronym for 'What I Know Is' or something stupid like that.
